September home foreclosures top 100,000 for first time

(Reuters) – The number of homes taken over by banks topped 100,000 for the first time in September, though foreclosures are expected to slow in coming months as lenders work through questionable paperwork, real estate data company RealtyTrac said on Thursday.

Banks foreclosed on 102,134 properties in September, the first single month above the century mark, RealtyTrac said. There were 347,420 total foreclosure filings in September, 3 percent higher than August and 1 percent higher than a year earlier.

Some say there will be a dip in the 4th quarter, but only because on Wednesday, all 50 states launched a joint investigation of the mortgage industry after widespread reports of mortgage industry officials signing foreclosure documents without knowing their contents.

For the quarter, there were 930,437 foreclosure filings, an increase of 4 percent over the prior three months and 1 percent lower than a year ago. One in every 139 homes received a foreclosure filing in the third quarter.

Nevada had the nation’s highest foreclosure rate, up 1% from earlier, for the 15th quarter in a row. One in every 29 Nevada homes received a foreclosure filing during the third quarter.

Looking at total numbers of foreclosures, California was worst, with 191,016, followed by Florida, Arizona, Illinois and Michigan. Combined, the five states accounted for half of all foreclosures last quarter.

It is essential that you understand that fear of looking like a failure to those you know and respect is the number 1 cause of failure in network marketing. Most new networkers quit the business before they have made it through their first year.
Give yourself time to learn the products, the system, and the art of growing your business. It will take time and the amount of money you make in those early months is not a factor you should look at. Most regular businesses don’t make ANY profit for the first year, some longer. Stay the course and you will be in good shape. If you neglect this advice, you may be facing the most common result of the masses in network marketing… quitting before you should have.
Second, you will need to go up the ladder of your upline until you find a well seasoned pro with a proven duplicatable “system” for recruiting and building a team. This is will be crucial in determining whether you succeed or fail. It is crucial for these reasons: Without a leader, you simply won’t have the proper training. Most people need to follow until they can lead. It’s almost impossible to start out as a leader. Failing to do this is likely to mean you won’t even attempt to sell your products much less recruit anyone into your team. You won’t feel you can train them or even answer questions about the product or growing their own team. And you eventually fail at network marketing.
You see these failed people on discussion boards making comments about how MLM are scams or only the top people make all the money. This is what happens when people invest money in something where there is no support or help in building their business. They might have even thought they could become rich over night, only to find it didn’t work out that way. So trying to keep others from going through that experience is a way to walk off their frustrations.
Third, you have to remember to build relationships in this business. Without building relationships with your customers and future team members, you just can’t go very far. Trust and respect are two factors that must be developed in this relationship. Many people will want to wait for a while before joining you in order to see if you last or if you are really serious about your business. Being in the same business 3 or 4 months later when you run into them again will speak volumes more than anything you could ever say to them in that first encounter. Continue to learn new ways to find people and build relationships. Email is one of the strongest ways of doing this. It prevents you from having to look bad in their eyes by calling them every month. Make your offer in person one time and then afterwards email them with “content” until you decide the time is right for them. Remember, you are leading others into the business, so be a leader first and the sales will take care of itself. Look for good leader material in people as you build your business.

Here’s the bottom line… Most ads on Craigslist make creating your own ad the easiest process ever. There is simply no competition when you learn the secret process I’m about to share with you.

Here it is…when you create and write an ad on Craigslist or other online ad, keep CURIOSITY in the forefront of you mind. Remember you are not selling anything in the ad. You are simply after a click through to your website. Curiosity is the only tool you will use. It is the secret of forcing people to do what you want… click through to your webite. First what NOT to do… don’t just copy other people advertising, think outside the box. What you want to do is to create a drama that plays out from the headline, to the text, to your website.

What do I mean by “Drama”? This is why a perfume commercial on TV never mentions the perfume until the last 5 seconds of the commercial. The whole commercial explores some drama of a beautiful girl meets handsome boy and strikes up a romance etc. It ends with a picture and name of the perfume. You can use this same secret. Create a drama that begins with your headline, which bridges into your text copy and leaves the reader curious how it ends which of course requires they click on a link taking them to your website, sales page etc.

Let’s look at an example: Keep in mind that the headline needs to have at least one word that makes that headline be acceptable in that subject. If you are advertising in the Job/Sales area, the word “marketing, marketer, sales, salesperson etc”, needs to be in the headline.
So we could say something like: Only the Best Salesperson will survive… (Dallas)
